“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” - John F. Kennedy
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” - John Quincy Adams
Inculcation of human values is true education; our school is ethically inclined to imprint ethos of democracy and equality among students. Imparting political education is mandatory as it equips the learners with necessary skills and knowledge to become better acquainted with our government and democracy. Therefore, we have democratically elected Students’ Council.
The Students’ Council is a student-led team created to nurture civility, leadership and also foster faith in democratic process. The members are elected in the election process for a period of one year. House masters explain the process of election to students in detail. Students from Grades IV-XII sprightly participate in the entire process.
The interested students, file their nomination papers and submit to their respective Housemasters. Thereafter, grade-wise interviews are conducted by the house teachers to select the suitable students for different posts. Contestants strategize, plan, design campaign posters, prepare write-ups and canvass for votes.
Election of House Prefects and House Vice-Prefects takes place wing-wise. Students from Grades IV – XII cast their votes through e-voting. Confidentiality, discipline and respect for voting are quite evident throughout the election process. Students from Sr. Secondary fervently participate and conduct elections, interviews, exit polls, etc.
Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl and House Captains are selected on basis of interviews conducted by School Interview Panel from amongst teachers and Heads. The nominees are evaluated on their participation in scholastic & co-scholastic activities at school, district, state and national level. They are also interviewed for their personal attributes like confidence, communication skills, critical thinking, etc.
Investiture Ceremony is conducted on completion of election process, to felicitate the newly formed School Council.
