School Counselling Services at Pathseekers promote holistic development of students. The need for these services is steered by complexities of human growth process, demands on youth and the ever changing nature of society. School counselling services are provided in three major domains i.e. academics, career and personal/social to ensure wellbeing of students. Individual, group and classroom sessions are conducted for intervention and prevention purpose, as detailed herein below:
- To assess intellectual abilities and specific learning disabilities of students when necessitated by classroom observations/psychological tests. Provide such students with certain interventions and remedial guidance.
- To assess and respond to Emotional, Social, Intellectual and Behavioural issues in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- For assessment and identification of challenging behaviour at a very early age and take suitable steps to prevent the onset of psychosocial problems.
- To provide individual/group counselling and therapy sessions to the students.
- To sensitize and train teachers about different types of disorders, disabilities and behavioural issues among students through workshops.
- To maintain record of counselling, interventions, workshops and also of students’ progress.
- To conduct parenting sessions (individual or group sessions) as per needs.
- To maintain safe and positive learning environment for students.
