Curriculum
We, at Pathseekers, visualize our children as informed decision-makers, responsible citizens, competent learners and above all, good human beings. We recognise that each child learns differently, at his/her own pace. Therefore, our curriculum is learner-centred. The Project Approach is an integral element of the curriculum. The curriculum follows a holistic and integrated approach, and is inquiry - driven. Each lesson plan targets 21st century skills and addresses the 4 C’s : Communication, Collaboration, Critical thinking and Creativity. All this is achieved through fun, creative, collaborative and explorative activities.
Pedagogy
Experiential learning takes place with art and sports integration and is a part of the lesson plans. Visual Arts & Performing Arts (Carpentry, Weaving, Pottery, Art & Craft, Dance etc.) are important components of our curriculum and hence facilitate competency based learning. Educational tours and trips are frequent pedagogical practices, here at Pathseekers.
The Project Based Learning (PBL) Approach is adopted to provide hands on experience to students to work on projects, such as ‘Kindness’, ‘Family’, ‘Food’, ‘Animals’, etc. enriching them with opportunities to work collaboratively to engage actively with the learning content.
Subject Integration at the Preparatory level, provides deeper insight and understanding of concepts, enabling the students to apply them in real-life situations.
First in Maths, has been an effective learning tool to ensure regular practice of math concepts, especially during holidays. It is very popular amongst the students as it has helped in enhancing their interest in the subject.
Holistic Development of the Child
At the Preparatory level, children clean their school to perform community service on Sewa Day, which is organised once a month. Student enrichment activities, such as inter and intra-school competitions, along with events like Founder’s Day, Sports Day, Independence Day etc. provide ample opportunities to children to express and communicate themselves in front of a larger audience.
Daily morning assembly is a pedestal for imparting values and provides valuable exposure to children with opportunities that enhance their confidence, leadership qualities and language development. Quizzes and Pranayama are daily practices, adopted in the morning assembly along with morning prayer.
Life Skills, Divinity Classes & Value Education
Values are imbibed, as a part of daily ongoing process with discussions and opportunities that arise through daily interactions. Divinity classes, held on a weekly basis, also provide an invaluable platform to the children to connect with themselves and to become more aware of their deeper inner selves, in the process of becoming better human beings.
Assessment
Grades I – II
There is a continuous evaluation of speaking, reading, writing, listening, arithmetic and numeracy skills. Variety of appropriate assessment tools are used for observing children's achievement in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy. The portfolio of each child is maintained to monitor and evaluate his/her progress.
Grades III – V
In Grades III – V, Class Tests, Periodic Tests along with Subject Enrichment activities are conducted in both the terms. At the end of each term, pen and paper examinations are held which cover both objective and subjective areas.
